About Us
Katelyn Lienhart is a freelance performer and educator who currently resides in Akron, OH and is owner of KL Flutes. Originally from Michigan, Katelyn has obtained degrees in both flute performance and music education from Central Michigan University, and holds a Master of Music in flute performance from the University of Akron.
As a woodwind specialist, Katelyn has extensive experience playing in orchestral pits as a doubling musician on flute, clarinet, and saxophone. She has been playing in pit orchestras for over a decade, and her most recent performances include Cinderella, Bye Bye, Birdie, Annie, and Cabaret.
Katelyn has performed with top ensembles across the Midwest, and has experience as an orchestral musician as well as with wind ensembles. Katelyn frequently performs on both flute and piccolo with a variety of ensembles, and performs in chamber groups as well as large ensembles. Katelyn has received the Runner Up Award twice for the Patricia A. Nixon Woodwind Competition, as well as in the Carl D. Hall Piccolo Competition.
Services
In addition to her ensemble performances, Katelyn is also a soloist performer who has played solo recitals, and has performed for various private events including luncheons, family gatherings, and special events. Katelyn also has experience performing for religious establishments for their regularly scheduled services and special services. As a private instructor, Katelyn is also currently accepting students of all levels of flute playing, as well as beginning to intermediate saxophone, clarinet, and piano students. Katelyn has over a decade of experience teaching private lessons to students of all ages, and has spent the past decade as a band camp instructor for local high schools. In addition to her private studio, Katelyn also teaches flute and piano at Royalton Music Center in North Royalton, Ohio.
